THE OTHERS "That's Your Problem"/"You Don't Believe Me"

It was the spring of 1996, but hey, in our little crazy minds it might have been 1966 and it would have been just the same. I remember being particularly busy that year with many releases on Misty Lane records coming out, touring and recording quite a LOT with The Others.
We went to play in Greece for a two unforgettable nights with The Sound Explosion and The Cardinals; had plenty of gigs in and out of Rome; plus we recorded the material for four 7"s AND a mini LP! Each record would have cost by the fall or later in early 1997, each one on a different label: Belgium (Zebrah), U.K. (Detour), 360 Twist (U.S.A.), Screaming Apple (Germany) and Misty Lane, of course. We had a great time on these tracks, all of them recorded live at Delta Top Studio by our trusted friend/daddy engineer Claudio Bartolucci.
For this little two-sider we close two classic covers that were among our fave in the live set: That's Your Problem by The Outsiders (we covered many other songs by them since I was totally obsessed, having met Wally Tax a few tines in Amsterdam in the previous years) and "You Don't Believe Me" by The Pretty Things.
Since the early Garage Punk days The Others were evolved into a Folk-Garage group and we mostly insisted on melodies instead of fast and fuzzed out numbers. Of course covering two of the greatest European bands of The Sixties was't easy, but at one point as a band you decide that you MUST try and play a certain cover live, and, sometimes, you even dare to record it, at any cost. Whatever the result might sound good or mediocre to purists today we had a deep love for the songs and their authors and came out with our own version after all. Time has passed but I still listen to the originals on a regular basis. A certain love never ends evidently. Looking back I like our effort too!
