What the hell is in the waters of the Medway to cause so many awesome bands to spring forth from that area of the UK? Allan Crockford has been in several of those bands, most notably The Prisoners (yes, really!), The Solarflares, and this quartet, named after a Star Trek episode (!). The Galileo 7’s stock in trade is classic Medway pop, currently mined by bands like The Len Price 3 and recalling The Who, The Buzzcocks, The Jam, and so many other legends of the mod. Are We Having Fun Yet? contains 14 awesome tracks which are guaranteed to get your heart pumping and your feet jumping! ‘Never Go Back’, the title track and ‘The Best Way Is Our Way’ are appropriately frenetic, while ‘Orangery Lane’ and ‘The Sandman Turns Away’ add some swirling psychedelia to the mix. Others like ‘Mine! Mine! Mine!’ and ‘Run Baby Run’ may just make you pogo around the room, and perhaps as a counterbalance, ‘Feet On The Ground’ possesses absolutely gorgeous arrangements, both vocally and instrumentally. Perhaps the most brow raising tune on the album is the gutsy ‘Some Big Boys Did It (And Then Ran Away)’; now what in the world does that mean??
The band asks, Are We Having Fun Yet?. Boys, we’ve had fun since the first note, and it lasted long after the record was over.

New group of Allan Crockford. Of course at first we recognize the affiliation with the Prisoners, but with a bit more up tempo tracks. We listening attentively, or background sound on this disc is full of Galileo 7 qualities. And some passages the headphones you will discover that some songs are like kinds of mini symphonies with full arrangements, layers of instruments and effects. The production maintains that clear and consistent. It alternates between titles that will please raised and carved TSOOL (Soundtrack of our Lives) fans, and songs idiots that make pop shake the head in rhythm in the spirit Beach Boys. Of course with this unique tab "Garage pop"that characterizes the work Allan in his previous groups. But we also hear a few Freakbeat explosions of good quality. After more than two months with this album I still say to myself that it brilliant! And it will surely be a beautiful soundtrack for the approaching summer.

The Medway Strikes Back: The Galileo 7 is the latest incarnation of that wizards by the name of Allan Crockford. References? The Prisoners, SolarFlares, James Taylor Quartet, Headcoats and Stabilisers. This album is yet another blessed fruit of a plant that absorbs water from the swollen fleshy fruits psychedelic past and the present. The musicians of the Medway have something special from Billy Childish to Graham Day until Allan Crockford: their endless production has never shown signs of slowing down of quality. And "Are We Having Fun Yet? looks like a collection of songs in the balance between power pop, 60s, psychedelia, with a constant dynamic and a face pop. The album never falls speed, and when something becomes dominant over the other, the song is rebalancing itself ripegando on another aspect. Now the songwriting of Crockford and Associates is the expression of a profession and an impeccable taste. "Mine! Mine! Mine", "Orangery Lane, " "Run Baby Run" are just some of this colorful necklace of pearls, which passes from the dreamy atmospheres of "Some Big Boys Did It (And Then Ran Away)" all 'Mod aggression of "Go Home" with the nonchalance typical of champions. Guitar, bass, drums and Hammond, for a classic British tradition of the re-Pop. You surely would not miss it to your collection ... (Retrophobic)

I discovered you on the heavy psych sounds samplers, the first song I heard was forever 1969 and though it's good I wanted more, so I bought this album and it pleasured my hearing holes, tickling my eardrums and leaving them in a state of ecstasy, unfortunately it didn't last song so I listen to one of your albums at least twice a week for my mental well being. That track has everything and anything in it. A pheasant's father, a watering can, unfinished alphabets from ancient civilisations, the two of spades, the morning dew, and Hell on earth. Antoine Mouquod
