Straight from 1966..or..1996!
THE OTHERS "So Far Out! 10" (MISTY LANE)
1996 was a busy year for The Others. After releasing a bunch of singles and EPs on several international labels in UK, USA and Europe (Detour Records Official, 360s Twist, Screaming Apple and Zebrah) and a brief tour in Greece, they still had a number of songs worth a mini LP, therefore the concept of "So Far Out!"a 10" mini-LP wich was recorded live at Delta Studio in Rome, engineered by Claudio Bartolucci.
Only three of the songs included were penned Massimo, arranged as usual by the whole band: "Tell Your Friends","You'll Be Gone" and "Comes And Goes".
The result was a pretty melodic mix of Sixties Garage and Folk Punk, anticipating the compositions that would appear onto their next studio album "Everything's There!" the following year.
The chosen covers were pretty obscure (at least by then): New York's The Ascendors "I Won't Be Home"; The Changing Times (Texas)' "Cry", Michigan's "The Run-A-Rounds "I Couldn't Care Less"; (Florida's) The Painted Faces "Don't Say She's Gone" and lastly Amsterdam's The Outsiders "Lying All the Time", a version that was highly appreciated at that time by their singer Wally Tax.
The Others' love for The Outsiders is also easily recognizable by the front cover of "So Far Out!
27 years later this record surely stands the test of time and it's easy to see why it's one of the band's fans favorite effort...so far! Enjoy it!
